GES Receives 2024 EBJ Business Achievement Award

San Diego, Calif. (February 2025) —Environmental Business Journal®* (EBJ), an independent business research publication that has provided strategic market intelligence to the environmental industry* since 1988, has honored Groundwater and Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) with a Project Merit Business Achievement Award.
“In another year of strong growth for the environmental industry in 2024, a number of companies set themselves apart with their growth, innovation, M&A, or signature projects that merit the special recognition of an EBJ award. With traditional environmental markets in infrastructure, air quality, remediation, water and wastewater, as well as energy transition and climate resilience, it is understandable that companies report growing demand for environmental technology and services,” said Grant Ferrier, editor of Environmental Business Journal and chair of the EBJ Business Achievement Award selection committee. “Pivoting with political change and overcoming the multiple challenges of inflation, supply chains, wage increases, labor shortages and changing markets has almost become routine for the resilient leaders in the environmental industry.”
GES was recognized with a Project Merit Award for their response to an emergency brine release for an energy client at a Louisiana well pad site. Within 48-hours, GES mobilized a team of 30 environmental specialists to manage this release and initiate remediation. Using real-time data and GIS modeling, the team assessed contamination and guided remediation efforts. GES’s rapid response successfully prevented contamination to a nearby creek and a secondary water source for a local municipality while restoring the site to pre-release conditions. Ongoing monitoring continues to evaluate the success of revegetation. The project was completed on budget and restored the site to pre-release conditions. Working seamlessly, recognition is given to the Project Rapid Response Field Team, Technical, Mapping, QA and Reporting teams from the offices of Lewisville and Houston, TX; Baton Rouge, LA; Richmond, VA; Buffalo, NY; Baltimore, MD and Chicago, IL.
The 2024 EBJ awards will be presented live and in-person at the EBJ Business Achievement Awards banquet at Environmental Industry Summit XXIII on April 02-04, 2025 in San Diego, along with CCBJ Business Achievement, Lifetime Achievement and 50-Year Company anniversary awards.
