COVID 19, Stay Home, Stay Safe
The ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic has been a very stressful period for many. Because of the pandemic, the federal government and many states have implemented several actions to limit potential exposures and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, which has led to business closures and/or limited the normal operations of many companies.
That being said, maintaining the health and safety of our employees, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, clients and the communities we live and operate in is paramount to GES. As the coronavirus pandemic evolved, GES has developed and communicated several news bulletins to the entire company to remind our staff of the necessary precautions that must be taken to help protect themselves and others from the COVID-19 virus and other flu viruses impacting society this time of the year.
Although there has been some impact to GES, the Department of Homeland Security and the States that have implemented business closures have indicated that GES’ operations are essential services that protect human health and environment during this crisis, and that we should continue to support our clients’ environmental projects.
In addition, GES previously had in place a Pandemic Response and Preparedness Plan policy, which has been updated to address the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus, including implementation of a Visitors and Vendors Health Questionnaire. Because of these actions, we do not anticipate the COVID-19 virus will impact GES field work or office operations. However, we are being cautious and mindful of the increasing number of people who have contracted the COVID-19 virus, and implemented a process for preventing the least impact to GES’ operation whereby 449 GES employees are equipped to work remotely. During this time, we have directed our staff to meet with our clients via phone or video conference whenever possible, instead of in-person meetings.
Although this situation is changing at a rapid pace, please be assured that our operating and safety plans are in full effect and GES remains operational during this unprecedented period. If you have any questions regarding the GES plan or the actions that we have taken to date, please contact your GES program or project manager.
