Frequently Asked Questions
I applied to an opening on your job application website. Can I contact a representative at GES for an update on the status of my application?
Thank you for your interest in a career at GES. Due to the volume of inquiries received on a daily basis, we cannot provide a personal response to requests for information related to the status of an application, job posting, or hiring decision.
Following the successful completion of your application, you received an e-mail confirming receipt of your resume. At this point, your submission is ready for review by the GES hiring manager. Depending on the volume of applications received, the review process can take up to six weeks to qualify and select candidates for further screening and interviews. In most cases, candidates will be informed by email when an application is no longer being considered for a posted position.
If you were not selected for a position, your resume will remain on file with GES. GES often refers to past applications as new positions become available. We will notify you if it is determined that your past application is a potential match for a career opportunity at GES. We welcome you to continue your search for other opportunities with GES by visiting our online career center.
I would like to learn more about a position before I submit my application. Can I speak to a recruiter and/or hiring manager first?
We take great pride in facilitating a fair application and candidate screening process. GES is unable to respond personally to inquiries seeking additional information about open career opportunities. We encourage all interested candidates to complete an online application for employment consideration.
If you do not see a current opening that matches your background, you can submit a general application for future consideration. A representative from GES will contact you if your experience and background is considered a match for an open career opportunity.
I would like to address my cover letter in my application to the hiring manager. Can GES share the contact information for the hiring manager?
We realize candidates may want to personalize the information in an application to stand out from the crowd. This includes the contents of your cover letter. However, GES is unable to provide the contact information for hiring managers and/or other hiring team members prior to review of your application. You may simply address your cover letter and application to “GES Hiring Manager”.
I am a college student interested in internship opportunities at GES. Does your company hire interns?
GES does not have a formal internship program due to the nature of our work in the field and comprehensive health and safety training requirements. However, GES does hire interns on a limited basis, depending on the anticipated work and staffing needs for a particular office, project team, or business department.
We are always accepting general applications from candidates wishing to pursue an internship at GES. Click here to complete our internship application.
